• PDP-8 front left, speech converter background, right. The rightmost piece of equipment is a ferrograph tape recorder purchased for speech processing work in 1963/4.
  
• This is Brian Carpenters's speech processing hardware, for further information see P1255G-I560A.
  
• After Brian Carpenter's PhD was complete his hardware was used for a few student projects in the new Kilburn Building, this is one of several photos of it in that role.
